Today we are excited to share the Royal Wedding 2018 Top Predictions by Katie Stocks, Wedding Planner Expert at The Events Designers.

So, what can we expect from the royal wedding of 2018? Big and beautiful floral designs, yes! Elegance, yes. Big colourful hats, yes. Romance, of course! Following from Prince Harrys’ romantic engagement proposal and using two diamonds from Princess Dianas’ ring, this wedding will ooze romance and surprises. There’s definitely going to be some hidden romantic gems and we cannot wait for the big day to unreel.

The Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry on Saturday 19thMay 2018 at St Georges Chapel, located in the grounds of Winsdor Castle. Following this the newlyweds will leave Windsor Castle in a carriage for a 2-mile procession through Winsdor town before returning to the castle by the Long Walk. The reception will be hosted in St Georges Hall in the castle grounds.

Floral Design

Here in the U.K May is the best time for wedding flowers! White garden roses, white peonies, white foxgloves mixed with greenery and branches of beech, birch and hornbeam are set to be used for the floral designs by London florist Philippa Craddock. All very delicate flowers to create a soft and romantic look to this grand wedding. It has been rumoured that all the wedding flowers will be distributed to local charities after the wedding.

Renowned fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski has been confirmed as the official wedding photographer. Alexi photographed Harry and Meghan engagement at Frogmore House located in Winsdor and the photographs were dreamy!

The Dress

Meghan is not sharing any details about her beloved wedding dress. Expected designers are: Erdem Moralioglu, a Canadian designer, Roland Mouret a French designer and Ralph & Russo duo, who designed the gorgeous black, sparkly dress Meghan wore for her engagement photographs. We are envisioning a timeless, simple and elegant design with sleeves following the royal family tradition.

Royal weddings can last as long as 12 hours and are focused around the wedding meal with speeches traditionally given by important groomsman. Bride speeches are more popular than ever right now, could Meghan shake things up by saying a few words? We hope so!

Wedding Reception

We imagine lots of crystal from glassware, plates and chandeliers mixed with greenery and white floral designs with lots of candlelight to create a romantic and soft atmosphere.

A lemon elderflower cake covered in buttercream and adorned with fresh flowers has been confirmed from London pastry chef Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes. A very different choice from the traditional fruit cake.

Possibly the biggest thing that Royal weddings are known for – the hats and fascinators! Yes, we are expecting the prettiest of wedding hats and fascinators. It is expected that more than 250 members of the British Armed Forces will be involved on the wedding day as acknowledgement from Prince Harrys’ time in the Army.

The after-party will be where the couples’ true personalities come out. We are sure they will have an amazing DJ, surprise entertainment for all wedding guests to enjoy with endless amounts of food and drink.
